FLB-250 is an air launched ground penetrating antenna developed to cover the need for non-contact antennas in applications where full contact is not possible. The implemented antenna design makes the emitted footprint as narrow as possible, allowing for better transition of the EM wave energy into the material under survey. FLB-250 has been optimized to offer a good front to back ratio to allow for operation in urban environments. However, its primary application is for geology survey in very rough terrain where the use of ground coupled antenna may be prohibitive or in the fast acquisition road surveys. FLB-250 has been successfully combined with HA-1000 or HA-2000 horn antennas. This allows the gathering of information about the deeper layers of the road in one pass together with the shallower road information provided from the horn antennas.
FLB-500 is an air launched ground penetrating antenna developed by Geoscanners AB to cover the need for noncontact survey applications. It has a narrow footprint on the air to ground interface to increase the amount of signal energy penetrating into the ground. FLB-500 has been optimized to offer a good front to back ratio allowing operation in urban environment as well. The intended fields of applications for FLB-500 are shallow surveys that demand better resolution where there is no possibility to achieve contact with the rough terrain. Due to its specific features, FLB-500 comes in two different hardware solutions. The basic hardware version includes the antenna and the standard connectors so the antenna can be connected to any radar control units from the Akula 9000 series. In this way you can use this airborne solution with the standard equipment and acquisition software, for the fastest possible results. Optionaly, FLB-500 can be provided with an integrated radar control unit. This gives more freedom when it comes to mounting and moving the antenna over the survey site. The latter requires additional software.
FLB-390 is an air launched ground penetrating antenna developed specifically to cover the needs for noncontact antennas in applications where full contact is not possible. The side lobe isolation properties of FLB-390 are exceptionally good, even though this can be a problem area for air launched antennas in general. Because of the scalability of the Geoscanners products, it is easy for the user to use the same antenna for different situations, surveys and environments. FLB-390 is no exception and can be used for rough and even terrains, high speed road inspections, measurements from helicopters and more. It can also, because of the very narrow antenna beam and extremely high front-to-back ratio, be used in crowded environments where other antennas might not be up to the task. FLB-390 is a good extension of the road survey systems that only have horn antennas with shallow penetration. When combining the horn antennas with FLB-390, the user will have a powerful system for surveys that require both shallow and deep penetration. With this configuration the users will be able to inspect the top road layers and deeper subbase anomalies in one go. Irregardless of whether FLB-390 is used alone or with other antennas, the user will have a powerful air launched antenna for deep penetration.
